Mrs Jem Stanley our current principal is an educator with over 21 years of experience , primarily as a staff of Manchester High school in Mandeville and then as Assistant Registrar Curriculum Development in the Caribbean Examination Council.

She succeeded Sister Maureen Ryan R.S.M, as the first non catholic person to head this Mercy Institution. She subsequently joined the large cadre of Mercy Associates, who are engaged in the administration of schools which are sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, committed to the mission of the foundress - Catherine McAuley- to serve the poor, the sick and uneducated : and " to continue the mission of Jesus aimed at affirmation and full development of Human Beings."

Her motto is" Excellence in everything you do" and her goal is to see the school continue in its path of growth as each year it graduates students who by their own outstanding sense of humility, discipline, and respect for their fellow human beings are ready to affect the lives of those who they will meet at other halls of academic pursuits, in the streets and in the workplace.

It is her belief that education is not merely enabling intake , but that each child has buried in him or her a treasure , a gift; and it is up to the educators to discover this treasure and nurture it to its fullest potential. In some students this is buried deeply and a lot of patience and hard work is required to make the child a success.

Succeeding in this challenge is an educator's joy and that which she decrees to become a reality for each Teacher at Mt. St. Joseph prep.
